International Dance Acclaim is an organization that offers “opportunities for achievement through performance and culminating in an exciting performance assessed by an experienced IDA adjudicator.” IDA Awards give students a personal goal, and they work hard to achieve it! Everyone dances a few short exercises in small groups and a dance as a solo for the adjudicator. Family and friends are invited to watch their dancer perform, and be a part of the Awards at the end. Whereas no one is required to do in Awards, we find the improvement from those who do participate is incredible. The excitement and sense of accomplishment achieved at the end make all the hard work worth it!
